BACKGROUND
The Woodville Lions club is part of a global organisation with over 1.4 million members. The Lions actively help make their community a better place to live in, via becoming involved with community projects, helping those who need it and raising money for charities.
The Woodville Lions Club are long-time supporters of the Grassroots Trust Rescue Helicopter, having supported & fundraised for the emergency service for 30 years.
Coast to Coast
The Suzuki Coast to Coast motorcycle ride has been running since 1993 and continues to get more and more popular every year in the Manawatu region!
This is the ultimate road experience! The ride travels from the West Coast to the East. Past routes have included leaving from Himatangi in the morning and riding through Foxton onto Shannon then up and over the Pahiatua Track to Woodville, where they join in with Woodville’s Annual Christmas Parade. The bikes are a highlight of the parade and the sight and sound of them riding attract a large crowd from far and wide.
After a complimentary lunch in Woodville, the riders head off through Mangatainoka turning off to Makuri, through Pongoroa to finish at Akitio. At just over 200kms, it is a great day’s ride supporting a worthy cause, as all proceeds raised go to the Grassroots Trust Rescue Helicopter.
