On Wednesday afternoon, February 14, the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to the Tongariro Crossing for a female in her 20s who had slipped and fell whilst hiking. The patient had sustained fracture injuries and was flown to Rotorua Hospital for further treatment.
